Jamie Beatty, Co-Founder and Lead Farmer

Jamie, farmer for Mendocino Generations, grew up splitting time between the hills of Mendocino County and Berkeley, CA. He spent close to nine years in Santa Cruz, CA, where he became an avid mountain biker and worked in the cycling industry. He was the co-owner of a used bicycle shop and then worked for Bontrager Cycles, manufacturing high-end, hand-made bicycle frames. Jamie is a certified holistic massage therapist and believes strongly in the power of hands-on healing and medicinal cannabis as powerful tools for a higher quality of life. Jamie moved to Mendocino County in 1997. He started gardening the following year, discovering a great appreciation for it and working with the earth. He has a deep connection with the plants and has developed an intuitive gardening approach. He is learning about and incorporating biodynamics into his farming practices. He was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2006. He lives in the rural hills of Mendocino County and owns River Txai Farms with Chiah and their two kids, three dogs, 4 1/2 cats, and the wildlife all around.
